Apply for a CHAMP Award and win up to 20k

The Mentor UK CHAMP Awards recognises and rewards projects that help prevent children and young people from misusing alcohol.

The awards scheme is run every two years and culminates in an awards ceremony in central London where the three most inspirational projects are rewarded with a £10,000 cash award and up to £10,000 of ongoing consultancy support.

Awards are made in three categories:

• For work in Schools
• For work in Communities
• For projects led by Young People

To apply for a CHAMP Awards simply:

• read the Guidance notes (Adult Guidance Notes or Children's Guidance Notes)
• have a look at ‘First Measures' for useful tips and case studies - enter your details in the space provided on the right to gain access
• watch the past winners' DVD clips for inspiration
• fill out the application form and send to us by April 21st, 2010

Whether it's through sport, music, after school clubs or education the judges are looking for projects that address risk factors such as boredom and lack of aspiration. The best of these projects will also take into account factors that protect young people from alcohol misuse, such as encouraging achievement and motivation.

Anyone can nominate a project with winners from each of the three categories being selected by panels of young people from across Great Britain.
